Here you can see examples of how much the charge can be, when you drive from Helsingør to Copenhagen, in the trial:
The people in the examples are not real.
You can see the location of the charging zones here.
The examples are based on calculations of the number of minutes or kilometres in the different charging zones on trips from one place to another in Denmark. These are estimates that may vary slightly as trips are driven. The prices are rounded off.
A purpose of the trial is to test different charging systems. That is, whether the participants pay charge per kilometre or per or tests a higher payment rate. The amount of toll depends on which charging system the participants tests and where and when they drive.
Jens works at Helsingør City Hall and has a meeting at Copenhagen City Hall. He drives through three zones during rush hour. Since Jens tests charge per kilometre in all zones, his total trip costs approximately DKK 52.
If Jens took the same trip outside rush hour to eat at a restaurant near Copenhagen City Hall, the trip would only cost about DKK 27.
Jens would therefore save money in situations where he would be able to drive outside rush hour.
Jens takes the same trip, but he is testing a charging system, where he is only charged in the city and suburb zones. The trip will therefore cost approximately:
If Jens only tests charges in the city centre zone, the same trip will cost approximately:
Vibeke lives near Helsingør City Hall and is meeting a friend at Copenhagen City Hall. She drives during rush hour and tests charge per minute on her way there.
She doesn't pay per minute in the national zone but pays per minute in the city centre and suburbs. The trip will cost around DKK 60 in rush hour.
If Vibeke instead meets a friend outside rush hour, the trip would cost approximately DKK 15.
If Vibeke only tests charges in the city centre zone, the same trip would cost approx:
