The examples are based on calculations of the number of minutes or kilometres in the different charging zones on trips from one place to another in Denmark. These are estimates that may vary slightly as trips are driven. The prices are rounded off.
A purpose of the trial was to test different charging systems. That is, whether the trial participants paid toll per kilometre or per minute in one or more toll zones or tested a higher rate. The amount of the toll depended on which charging system the trial participants tested and where and when they drove.

Charges per kilometre in three zones - examples
Birgitte drove from Odense City Hall to Svendborg City Hall and tested toll per kilometre for all three zones on the way there.
Her trip costed approximately DKK 51.5 during rush hour and DKK 29 outside rush hour.
Charges per kilometre in suburb and city - examples
Birgitte took the same trip but she only tested charges in the suburbs and city centre. The trip would therefore cost approximately:
- DKK 17 in rush hour
- DKK 6 outside rush hour
Charges per kilometre in the city - examples
If Birgitte only tests toll in the city centre zone, the same trip will cost approximately:
- DKK 5 in rush hour
- DKK 2 outside rush hour
Toll per minute
Charges per minute in three zones - examples
Jesper traveled from Odense City Hall to Svendborg City Hall and tested toll per minute for all three zones on the way there.
He didn't pay per minute in the national zone but paid per minute in the city centre and suburbs.
The trip would cost approximately DKK 19 during rush hour and DKK 7 outside rush hour.
